About

The California Native Plant Society (CNPS) is a statewide non-profit organization of amateurs and professionals with a common interest in California’s native plants. CNPS seeks to increase understanding and appreciation of California’s native plants and to preserve them in their natural habitat through scientific activities, education, and conservation.

The statewide California Native Plant Society is comprised of 35 individual chapters representing different regions throughout the state. The Santa Cruz County CNPS chapter is dedicated to work within the county of Santa Cruz, ranging from the Santa Cruz Mountains to the county border near the Pajaro River in Watsonville. Our neighboring chapters are the Santa Clara Valley CNPS and the Monterey Bay CNPS.

We welcome everyone from the botanists and defenders of the environment to the casual nature lover. Contact us to find out about the organization. Attend a meeting-you will learn something new!
