No summer water
Chaparral mallow forms a fountain-shaped shrub with hairy gray leaves. The flowers in shades of
pink, resembling small hollyhocks, appear in spikes or panicles during the summer. This is a good
plant for a dry garden or bank cover. Cut back after bloom for best appearance. Rhizomes may
spread to form thickets. Give good drainage.
